Open Evening
Yesterday we were able to attend the Open Evening at Oakley's school. This is when you review the work done in class this year, go and look at the next class and meet the new teacher.
I can't say it was the most exciting evening of my life, but it was nice to be there because we're usually in Manchester that Monday, for Quent's July scan.
This year, Prof doesn't need to see us until September. Quent will therefore have to think up something good for my birthday on Friday because he's not giving me the best gift ever - a clear scan.
We still marvel regularly at the immense good fortune of being in the situation we are. Both alive and healthy - just a kidney, a couple of chunks of lung and a few floorboards adrift from the rest of you.
We hope that our luck continues through to September - and that if any of you are undergoing treatment, it is as successful as Quentin's has been.
Have a good "summer".

I love the subtext to this Helen - no medical news, which after the rollercoaster of the last 6 years, is fantastic news.
Hello I have thought so many times about leaving you a comment. It is strange I feel like I know you all.
My partner has been through all Quentin has. Second lung op was in June and has had several complications this time round. Due to see the prof Monday. Not sure what the next stage will be, fingers crossed all cancer has now been removed. I always read back over quentins recovery and effects of il2, taking away the positive news you bring. All the best
Hello, "anonymous" and thanks for posting! I'm sorry to hear you've been through similar trials plus recent complications - but I'm glad the blog has helped in a small way.
We'll be thinking of you both on Monday and wish you the very, very best the Prof can offer. (Please give him our regards too).
We dearly hope to read good news here soon.
