Boy for sale

The scan revealed that things are a bit, but not dramatically, worse. Or in Quent's words, "There are more than 10 spots and some of them are getting quite chunky".

There are also infected lymph nodes around the base of the lungs. The head scan was clear, however, which is great news.

Surgery is ruled out as an option (it was always a long shot), but we can still go for Interleukin 2 in Manchester. Quentin has decided he would like to start as soon as possible. "If it's palliative, you want to spin things out, but if it's curative, we're better getting on with it".

Prof Hawkins' advice was to keep as fit as possible before treatment, so I will be cracking down on the following for Quent:

* Lots of rest.
* Daily exercise.
* Strict diet to get his body as strong as possible.
* Daily supplements.
* Avoiding people with any sort of infectious illnesses!

So we wait to hear when we start, but it will probably be in the next few weeks. Anyone want to look after a cheeky little 3 year old?

It depends on how good a builder Oakley is and how much he can help replacing our ceilings ;)
Good luck with everything, I wish I could give you helpful tips other than "berries are supposed to be good for you". I'll stick to positive thinking!

Send him to sea. He obviously enjoys it. Or the circus - see the world!

I can't remember if we have had the debate on the nutritional benefits of Guinness... I'm sure we have but I've forgotten the results, possibly due to the effects caused by completing the research.

Saw Quent at Batchworth tonight doing a bit of DIY - is that what you call resting? - I suppose with a lively 3 year old at home it probably is! Thinking of you always,

Our house will be happy to have Oakley as you know. He can come for a few days or spend weeks with us. Reasons why you should ask us are
1. We all adore Oakley
2. Oakley loves Oscar
3. Oakley loves Lucie
4. The rest of us love Oakley even though we are not as interesting as the fore mentioned.
5. There are an unusual number of responsible adults around in our house most of the time.
6. I have practiced on three other kids, so Oakley will have fine quality, experienced child care.
7. The food is good here.
8. The house is loud- Oakley will feel at home
9.Oakley will come back with talents such as
a. Bread making
b. Karaoke skills
c. Trampolining
d. Drawing skills
e. Painting skills
f. Dog-training skills
g. Scouting skills - with out the uniform

He will also return in touch with his more, feminine side due to most of our dressing up clothes that fit him, being fairy outfits. Lucie could teach him skills in how to get attention under most circumstances . Jackson will show him, how to turn invisible when the shit hits the fan, meanwhile Emily will teach him how to skillfully manoeuver around your mother, when things were not going how you wish them to. i.e. how to make your mother do a u- turn on the word “NO” in 5 minutes!
Well we are one option on a long line of offers I am sure. One thing that is for certain here- he would not have time to be bored!!!
Our door is open, my sweet hearts, anytime of the day.
Much love
Karen

I think I'd like to sign up for Karen's house too! You may have a problem getting Oakley home with all these peeps competing to show him a good time!

I guess it also means your surprise b'day party with dancing til dawn, oddles of champagne and a fabulous feast doesn't quite meet Q's strict new criteria so that will just have to wait for another year. More important things to concentrate on for sure.

Am here for you all whenever, however.

I have just learned today about Quent's situation through a mutual friend (I worked with Quent over several years, indeed had the dubious honour of being his boss for a while, but lost contact about 4 years ago).

The blog is inspiring. The determination, the positive approach, the humour. But this is Quent through and through. Although I never met you Helen you sound like a soul mate for Quent.

I will be thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Best wishes, Paul
