Quentin celebrated being able to eat normal food again by having a mince pie (thanks Lucy!), a brownie (thanks Jane) and a slice of Xmas cake.
The days are mainly spent relaxing in the lounge, pretending we’re on a Landmark Trust holiday (but without the wine), with an open fire to the right of him and a lovely snowscape to the left.
Progress is good.‘Normal food’ includes plenty of fresh fruit (Thanks Philip) between the snacks and a good plateful of roast chicken last night. We’ve even been for a short walk to the High Street and back. Life is good, if less high octane than Quent would usually like.
Thanks for everyone’s support, wishes and witty comments. It’s all a very important part of the recovery process.
Just catching up on all the news... so glad the op went well and that Quent is home and scoffing cake to his heart's content! Sending love to all of you, xx
I'm disappointed you managed an update on Quentin's week without mentioning the leaking manifold and his excitement about the opportunity to get his tools out in due time...
Great to hear and see of your relaxing mini-break to a heritage property in a pretty town. Frankly, I think I'd just forgotten what the inside of other houses looks like!
We had a quick look here just after Christmas, but after talking with Vince last night we realise we should have looked again. So, having caught up with your news, we're delighted that the op went well and that Quent is now on the road to recovery. Praying this continues and that he's back to his usual antics before long. Sending our love and best wishes Helen & Rob
Glad to hear you're all bearing up - looks like a fabulous place to stay - though obviously it would be more fun if you could really enjoy the experience.
So lovely to see that pic of Q looking mighty fine and fit considering. You guys are amazing. Sending big hugs and wishes for this rapid recovery to continue at pace. Lots of love xxx
Im not sure Christmas Pud, mince pies and choc brownies should be classified as "normal food" Quent, surely savoury foods such as nuts and crisps go better with beer wine and GnT. Glad to hear you've summoned up the energy to walk down to the pub even though its closed the practise is always useful and don't forget you've got to help us get through the 1200 litres of cider later in the year, thats going to take some real commitment.
I am pretty "normal" and very lucky. I have a husband, Quentin (married 2002) and a son, Oakley (born 2004) both of whom I adore. We live in London. This was the first paragraph of a work-y blog I set up a while back. It still defines me although I would probably downgrade "very lucky" to "lucky with a spell of bad luck" at the moment. I am pretty new to blogging but want to find a way to update friends and family about Quent's illness. If you are not friends or family, I suggest you go and do something fun outside.
