While we breathe, we hope

On Wednesday, having heard the results of the US elections and with Quentin’s provisional results also very fresh, I drafted an “isn’t life amazing” post. I didn’t want to put it up until we had heard from the radiologist and sadly, I was right to wait. We heard yesterday that there is an abnormality in one of Quent’s lungs which is probably significant. It is very small (6mm), but not where previous lesions have been (ie. It’s not scar tissue). It is not the lung operated on in August.

Prof has spoken to Mr Jones, the surgeon, who is due to look at the scans and give his view. Prof feels the options are either surgery or “wait and see”. The latter would mean a re-scan just after Christmas to see what has happened. His gut feel is to wait, especially given the number of operations Quent has had recently. He doesn’t feel there is merit in any drugs eg. IL-2, at this stage.

Everything else they scanned (liver, bones, other kidney) is fine, for which we are extremely grateful.

As Obama said, “While we breathe, we hope”.

Mr Obama also said "We can!". If anyone can beat this it's you two.

Hey all
I can confirm anyway that Quent is one huge abnormality, so i guess it's not so weird to have some abnormal house guests knocking around (and I don't mean us, so don't get smart)..
Let's hope it realizes it's NFI (not f'ing invited') and shrinks away of its own accord!
A rest from ops sounds like a good idea -that's actual and house operations Quent.
lots of love J xx

Remember Bob the Builder was actually the first to popularise the phrase "Yes we can!" in the response to "Can we fix it?". Let's hope the above rings true - for Quent primarily of course, but later on for the house :-)

And that you both are NFI ( not f'ing interested) in it being around.
I, on the other hand, always interested so keep bashing out this blog.
lots of love

Never let it be said that Quent does things by halves!
Another challenge and chapter in this trecherous journey for you both - we're all thinking of you!
Love R, K, C and L.
