Good results all round

Quent's scan was clear. The Prof was delighted with our fundraising efforts. Philip, the friend we met at the Christie is doing very well on his new trial (having been in a very bad way earlier in the year). Excellent results all round.

More details of our Manchester trip later in the week, but suffice to say we are going to bed very happy.

What's Prof up to?

I haven't quite worked out what this is all about, but it seems that Prof is collaborating with some company to help with his T cell research.

This is what the other company says about Prof's company, Cellular Therapeutics Ltd.

Cellular Therapeutics Ltd is one of only a few groups in the world that has achieved strong clinical responses with TIL therapies. They are also leaders in manufacturing and validation of engineered adoptive T cell therapies. We are excited to bring our unique TCR drug discovery platform to bear on T cells that they provide us,” said David Johnson, PhD, CEO of GigaGen. “With this collaboration we are closer to successfully achieving our goal of developing innovative, curative therapies based on immune cells from cancer patients.

Let's hope so - and let's hope the therapies are affordable for the NHS!

Quent has another scan on Monday so we're off to Manchester again. Lunch first with the lovely Philip and Sue, whom we met at the Christie in 2007, when Quent and Philip were both undergoing IL-2. Then bloods, then the scan, then an appointment with Prof Trainer (endocronology) and then an appointment with Prof Hawkins, hopefully to get the results of the scan.
